Android Authority ran a fridge, kettle and microwave off the Anker for over 60 hours on the way to an Editor’s Choice award, and CleanTechnica’s disaster readiness review had it running a refrigerator, lights, router and phone charging simultaneously without complaint.

The Jackery’s numbers are smaller but the endorsements are not. Android Police leaned on it through a week-long outage and called it the easiest power station recommendation they have ever made, and The Drive found a full pour-over coffee routine with grinder and kettle used just 11% of the battery. For a weekend of camping or a day-long outage, 1070Wh covers phones, laptops, a CPAP, lights and a reasonable fridge.

Charging speed: both fast, Jackery faster

Neither makes you wait overnight. The Explorer 1000 v2 refills from empty in about an hour in Emergency mode; The Solar Lab clocked roughly an hour and 35 minutes in standard mode on its own bench. The S2000 pulls up to 1,600 watts from the wall for a full charge in about 1.7 hours, and ESS News measured 80% in about 1.2 hours from an ordinary 20 amp circuit. Scale for capacity and the Anker is arguably quicker per watt-hour, but in practice both are ready before the next outage.

ESS News also confirmed the Anker’s standby efficiency claims, about 2 watts of idle draw with outlets off, which is what lets a backup battery sit ready for weeks without draining itself.

The shared limits: 1500 watts and 400 watts of solar

Here the spec sheets converge. Both top out at 1500 watts continuous, so a space heater plus a microwave is a no on either. The Solar Lab watched the Jackery shut down within seconds under a 2200W surge, exactly as designed, and ESS News frames the Anker the same way: a unit for essential loads, not whole-home coverage. Both also cap solar input at 400 watts where competitors take 800 to 1,000, so off-grid solar builders should shop elsewhere. And both carry UPS-style switchover fast enough to keep a desktop or router alive, 10 milliseconds on the Anker and under 20 on the Jackery.

Weight and longevity: pick your trade

The Jackery is the one you grab with one hand: about 24 pounds with a fold-flat handle, light for the class per T3, with quiet fans. The Anker is 35.7 pounds, still roughly 10 pounds lighter than competing 2kWh units per CleanTechnica, but Android Authority dinged its missing carry handle and its stingy three USB ports.

On lifespan the Anker wins the spec sheet: 10,000 rated cycles and a 15 year design life against the Jackery’s 4000 cycles. T3 points out that even 4000 cycles works out to about ten years of normal use behind a 5 year warranty, so both outlast the gadgets they will be charging.

Buy the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 if the mission is camping, tailgates and single-day outages, or if it will live in a car. It is cheaper, ten-plus pounds lighter, charges from empty in about an hour, and the reviews agree it is the easy recommendation at this size.

Buy the Anker SOLIX S2000 if the mission is multi-day outage insurance. Double the capacity means the fridge stays cold for days, not hours, and it is the smallest package anyone has put 2kWh in. Just keep the loads under 1500 watts either way.
